Monrovia – Helena M. Doe-Knuckles, Deputy Director for Administration at the Liberian Airport Authority (LAA), has thrown in the towel and resigned from her position, citing corruption and internal wrangling within the institution. Her abrupt resignation, effective Friday, August 15, 2025, has raised serious concerns about conditions at the Authority.

Madam Doe-Knuckles, who served less than two years in her role, stepped aside after what sources describe as mounting frustrations. She previously served as head of protocol at the Unity Party during the last election, a role that landed her the job.

Several well-placed LAA insiders describe a climate riddled with mistrust and conflict among top executives. Reports suggest Madam Doe-Knuckles became increasingly disillusioned with what she viewed as rampant financial mismanagement and an entrenched culture of corruption. “The system here is toxic, unprocedural, and corrupt,” an insider declared.

Thus far, management has issued no statement addressing the leadership vacuum and provided no clarity on the allegations surrounding Doe-Knuckles’ departure.
