Montserrado, Liberia, Sept 21 – Liberian authorities are investigating the cause of a dawn fire that tore through the residence of National Security Agency Director Prince C. Johnson in Paynesville on Sunday, leaving the property gutted but causing no injuries.
The blaze began shortly after 3 a.m. at Johnson’s three-bedroom home in the Soul Clinic Guinea Community, Liberia fire Service officials said. Units from two nearby stations reached the scene within minutes and worked for more than three hours to contain the flames, finally extinguishing them at 6:23 a.m. This was firsthand from men on the ground from the Liberia National Fire Service, adding that their last crews left at about 6:30 a.m.
No indication of foul play has been cited, but investigators are examining the site to determine what triggered the fire.
