Alexander B. Cummings, ANC political leader, drew national attention on Spoon Talk by naming core issues confronting Liberia under the Unity Party-led government: collapsing businesses, chronic underemployment, hunger, and officials profiting while citizens struggle. His assessment was direct—leadership has failed, and governance is adrift.

Rather than address this critique, Deputy Information Minister Daniel Sando dismissed Cummings as a “spineless political dwarf,” rejecting concerns without engaging the underlying issues.

On the Class Reloaded pro-government podcast, Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah escalated further by publicly questioning Cummings’ sobriety and implying substance use drove his words.

The Liberian government has faced criticism for launching personal attacks after Cummings alleged mismanagement and worsening poverty on national radio. Neither official responded to Cummings’ claims about unemployment, price hikes, and government spending.

The ANC has called a press release and warned the UP-led administration though its Secretary General branding as hypocrites and a regime with no direction.

Public reaction remains sharply divided. While pro-government commentators ridiculed Cummings, many others demand engagement with the country’s economic crisis rather than personal attacks.
